National unity doesn't mean unilateralism and "my way or the highway", national unity is about bringing all factions into the government. Even the ones you don't like.

The new Pm hasn't got any direct links with the Puntland authority.
The only link they share is amongst clan lines but that's about it.

Pretty much the whole country from Somaliland authority down to the TFG believe they're both decent blokes with a clean sheet.

There is no doubt in my mind Sharif's goverment would even short lived than Ali mahdi's manifest gov, because Sharif's humpty dumpty administration has no legs to stand first place. he has neither social nor religous support and it destined to fail.
