AU Envoy: Somalia's National Unity Government to Be Secular

Post by ModerateMuslim »

The African Union special envoy to Somalia said Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has assured him the national unity government now being formed will be secular.

Special envoy Nicholas Bwakira ...... said he had been assured by Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, a Somali cleric, that his government would not be religious.

"He also indicated that ... on the matter of religion, it would be the government, the State which will outline the policy, not the clerics," he said.

The envoy said Nigeria, Uganda and Burundi will soon be sending reinforcements for the African Union peacekeeping force known as AMISOM. He did not specify a date, though senior AU officials had previously said the force would be strengthened from its current 3,500 to more than 5,000 by the end of this month.

If he doesnt rule by the shariahlaw because he cant(but he wants to do it),then this is minor kufr which a ruler doesnt bring out from islam.
Ask the scholars before getting angry and rebelling against your ruler, you brainwashed little kharijis

Ibn Al-Qayyim says: “Judging contrary to what Allah, the Almighty, has revealed involves both types of kufr, the major and the minor, according to the attitude of the person making the judgment. If the person believes that a judgment must be passed according to what Allah has revealed and a punishment decided, but refrains from doing so out of disobedience and transgression, in that case he commits minor kufr. But if he believes that it is not obligatory to judge according to the Shari`ah and that he is free to act, notwithstanding his conviction that it is divine, he then commits a major kufr. But if he acts out of ignorance, or makes an unintentional mistake, he is only to be judged as a wrongdoer.”

Sh.Sharif cannot rule by the shariahlaw because of the huge influence which foreignpowers(usa, ethiopia,au)have in our country. They decided that somalia will head towards secularism.

It doesnt matter weither sh.sharif rules by shariahlaw or doesnt rule by it,iam oblighed/commanded by Allah's messenger pbuh to listen and to obey my ruler. 8-)

The difference is:
Ina yeey and the tyrant used to killed scholars. Murtad ina yeey didnt condemn the massacre of muslims in the mosque, infact he celebrated it.

The day sh.sharif kills muslims in mosque and oppresses the mogadishusians,on that day i will not support him and call for rebellion.

As far as it being major or minor Kufur. The scholars have said that one case when this minor kufur occurs is when the law is actually Shariah and then the ruler judges according to something else because of his desires for example.

But the issue at hand is much larger than that...the Shariah is not the sole source for the judgments. There are many points that go against the Shariah.

Check out the view of Ibn Kathir in his Tafsir.

Ibn Kathir in Tafsir of 5:50 says the following:

[أَفَحُكْمَ الْجَـهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْماً لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ ]

(Do they then seek the judgement of (the days of) ignorance And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm faith) Allah criticizes those who ignore Allah's commandments, which include every type of righteous good thing and prohibit every type of evil, but they refer instead to opinions, desires and customs that people themselves invented, all of which have no basis in Allah's religion. During the time of Jahiliyyah, the people used to abide by the misguidance and ignorance that they invented by sheer opinion and lusts. The Tatar (Mongols) abided by the law that they inherited from their king Genghis Khan who wrote Al-Yasiq, for them. This book contains some rulings that were derived from various religions, such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Many of these rulings were derived from his own opinion and desires. Later on, these rulings became the followed law among his children, preferring them to the Law of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger . Therefore, whoever does this, he is a disbeliever who deserves to be fought against, until he reverts to Allah's and His Messenger's decisions, so that no law, minor or major, is referred to except by His Law.

Thought that information might be helpful to get the other viewpoint also.
