Post by admin »

These guys attacked 100 ships and never make to the evening news while every country with a single warship is showing it off in Somalia's door steps...

AbdiWahab, there are many conflicts/wars going on in Africa. How many countries did the US and UN intervene in?

Same reason they are blowing the Darfur situation out of proportion while people are dying in neglect other parts of the world.

awali - still 100 attacks!!! this tells you nigeria is either incapable of dealing with them or doesn't want to interfere. For vessel owners and insurance companies, attack is an attack whether it is in nigerian waters or in somalia.

I still don't get why our skinny guys are news sensation while the world is turning a deaf ear to the west coast crisis.

Admin,

When u have no government to protect your sovereignity, no central authority to try criminals then the world would care because you are easily pushed over.

These guys are not only hijacking ships, they have attempted to capture the presidential compound of Equatorial Guinea not long ago. I really have the feeling these guys are funded by western agents.

I dont know why the media chooses whats news worthy and whats sensational... many reasons we could speculate and some we know I guess...

But any news about Somalia on the media.. no matter how embarrassing is good sometimes .
If nothing it focuses some attention from the governments..if they are not already pushing the media to make it to the headlines..

Somalia is probably more targeted than these pirates because they have no govt. and they are hijacking ships in the worlds most important ship route: the red sea/indian ocean.
Btw, these are the guys who give nigerians the stereotype of scammers.

Ma maqashay"Miskiin baa misko la fuulo leh" :!:
Mase maqashay" Marmarsiiyaa muska ii galay?"
Mase maqashay"Meel aan rabay roob igu eri"

First we are poor, law-less, without government country...
Secondly, remember how they labeled us as a country who has terrorists?
Thirdly, our country seems now to be "A No Man's Land"...

Xaggey iskaga shubayaan qashinka haddii ay budhcad badeed arliga joogto

Hopefully the Shiekh's Government will come our rescue...and he needs our support
