is it possible to identify genes that make somalis clannist and cure it? i do not believe it is nurture...it has to be nature

lol Its really possible but these are the sort of things that need deep research wallahi. Its hard to believe that even those Somalis that never grew up amongst Somalis are familiar with this. I mean, there has to be a genetic explanation for this wallahi. Its def not entirely environmental, b/c again those who never witnessned war, Somalia, somalis as group or lived amongst them are friggin loyalist one way or another to their clan. How do you explain, the Somali family for two to three generation who havn't been around Somalis or been to Somalia that long yet, qabil iyo qashin bey faraha kula jiiraan har iyo habeen? Some of the kids even just get curious the moment they start questioning their identity as Somali but its centered around their clan affliation rather than from a nationalistic point of view.

Yes there is a therapy but...It's more about economics than genes. The clannist ailment can only be cured once we start becoming a little bit more individualistic (the antonymous of clannism). We need to encourage a culture of full independence; work as opposed to expecting money from relatives, bail yourself out as opposed to expecting your clan to...etc. Only after we stop perceiving the clans as our first support system, would we cure ourselves.

demure is right the clan-qawiil plays a financial and personal security dual role for poverty stricken somalis in somalia. one way to survive is the qawiil unless u join alshabab and r willing to commit suicide bombing.

somalis in the west r mostly at the lower ends of the social order and most somali parents are illiterates who r dependent on welfare and have nothing much else to contribute to society other than promote, support qawiil poliics. most of the young are lost because they couldnt achieve their dreams of academic achievement and feel embarrassed to learn a trade to become self sufficient because of their lack of technical expertise like never holding a tool on their hands and in general, somali male hands r softer than j.lo's. a recipe for qawiilism like the dudes who post qawiil topics here.
