i did census on the somali demographic in toronto for a school assignment, and i have come to the conclusion that the taller you are the more your likely to be reer baadiye or decedents of reer baadiye. I'm myself 6'2'' and blame it on the reer khalaf tendencies of living the bushes of Hawd.
I interviewed 80 people. 37% above 6'0'' and 63% under 6'0''. Of those 37% people the majroity either came from the Hawd (ogaden, reer bicidyihian, reer khalaf, salabeen-HG) or the lower Juba (around kismayo). I found the majority of puntlanders were indeed short, with omar mohamud being the shortest and reer bicidyihian being the tallest. I found hawiyes to be average or above height and dont come in discrepancies like the other clans. Isaaq have the biggest varients, and come either very short (sacad muse) or very tall (muse abokar).
and yes, I did ask clans if I already didnt know their clan.
