is the weather determinant for peace and development?

Post by American-Suufi »

this is my theory. the weather plays an important role how countries and societies develop and men behave and act in peace and war?

case study, societies in warmer climates vs societies from freezing climates.

in warmer weather societties it is easy to survive and plenty of food available, this motivates men to seek fun and the only means they know is fight-wars. it doesnt encourage men finding better tools-technology to store their food for their survival because it is easy to survive in a such warm environment. this made them peasant farmers, they grow only what they need for the time being. men from such kind of an environment are always lazy and have too much time in their hands to start wars among each other.

while

in freezing weather societes men find un-natural ways of survival like heating, clothes and better insulated homes which encourages them to concentrate the mechanical-scientific development to better their lives. they have to grow their food during summer and find means of peoducing more and finding technology of storing it for other seasons during harsh environments. they hated wars because during winter time, as a soldier you will die of the weather conditions as a soldier left fighting in the snow fields than been killed in the actual war. for this reason, they decided to find alternatives to war=peace.

therefore the environment is a major determinant in the advance of or lack of technology and the committment to live in peace. if somalis lived in sweden we would have been a more technoligically advanced and peace loving society than swedish people living in somalia.

discuss?
