Is America the Greatest country on Earth?
Apparently some Snetters believe so. I don't think those individuals read history, watch some historical documentaries or even comprehend the unspeakable horrors America is today doing to Muslims in Africa, the Middle East & Asia. So, do you think or believe it's the greatest?

Arabman, i remember you posted this before...whats going on man? anyway, i used to think America was the greatest country on earth until i started traveling. i think what it is is that people normally associate the easy and convenient life that America offers as being "it". meaning, they assume that no other country on earth is like it, so people need to travel and experience other countries and culture before they can say America is the greatest country on earth. life is just as easy, convenient and as prosperous half way around the world and in the oddest of places. America is so overrated man...

Re: Is America the Greatest country on Earth?
Well it's not perfect but it's better than other's.

Re: Is America the Greatest country on Earth?
Screw, I am curious..which country(ies) do you consider to be the best..at least the ones you have seen so far and why??
Re: Is America the Greatest country on Earth?
I didn't post such or a similar poll. This poll was prompted by Shirib and FAH1223 who recently claimed America is the greatest. You're lucky that you've traveled to a number of countries to witness the difference.The-Screw wrote:Arabman, i remember you posted this before...whats going on man? anyway, i used to think America was the greatest country on earth until i started traveling. i think what it is is that people normally associate the easy and convenient life that America offers as being "it". meaning, they assume that no other country on earth is like it, so people need to travel and experience other countries and culture before they can say America is the greatest country on earth. life is just as easy, convenient and as prosperous half way around the world and in the oddest of places. Re: Is America the Greatest country on Earth?
Saaxiib,
There is no doubt in my mind that America is the greatest nation in the world. There is no other place in the world that offers the freedom and opportunities America offers. Yes there was a terrible administration that just got replaced but there is no place in the world that I would exchange for America; except of course back home if peace and stability return......Many people would have been dead of hunger if it weren't the millions Somalis in America send back home.....Fock the Arab so-called goverments that ship Somalis back; even dropping some of them in hostile clan territories.....I know this Dhabayaco guy whose brother was killed in Xamar when he was deported from Saudi Arabia and dropped in Xamar in 1990s. Last thing the ship captain heard him say was "Qataluunii, Qataluunii, USC Qataluuni, Yaa rabbi".
One of the worst and least educated Somali warlords was Muusi Suudi and I heard doing interview on BBC. The guy said something that I agreed with him:
"Arhee xoow aniga carab iisheegaa; dadka muga waaba dhoofiyaan..Maraykankaa ii dhaamo, muga lacagaa la iiga soo diraa"

Cawar, i'm not going to say it's the "best" but for me personally Denmark still remains one of my favorite places. picture perfect historical and modern architectural scenery, friendly people and it's not as populated as many think so its nearly perfect.

What good is freedom? And how would you know there are similar or better opportunities in other countries?guhad122 wrote:There is no other place in the world that offers the freedom and opportunities America offers.

America is the best country on Earth.
If it ever goes wrong in my country (UAE), the first country I would emigrate to would be the US.

what freedom are you talking about? you are under surveillance 24hrs a day. just b/c you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't watching you. your cellphone, your bank transactions, your travels, they know everything...down to your blood type. There is no other place in the world that offers the freedom and opportunities America offers.

What exactly defines "Great"?
Living conditions? Opportunities? Wealth? Social stratification? Individual rights vs. Government intervention? Healthcare?
