I am down 40%

I regret investing aggressively in equities and not balancing out in bonds & money market funds.
Inshallah, Obama can fix this mess
Next time I am better off investing in the Bakhara Stock Exchange than this crap of a US Market

Obama won't fix a damn thing bro. He is hoodwinking to the big wheel dealers of wall street and Georgetown. You are better off becoming a coyote, free agent for Somali Government and other developing leftist governments. You got any connections with The New Somali Administration?

Aero,
Yep, I am connected to the new Administration. I am just waiting for several things in my personal life to check out and I am off to Africa to wheel and deal from Mogadishu to Harare
Btw, C is being butchered. On the upside, BBI is up 10%. I love this stock as it is great to short and run up.

Ladane,
This recession was terribly unique as not even bonds were spared

Ismahan
I hope so.
Ladane,
Indeed it paid off for you.
40 years ! Thats a long time.
My focus now is investing heavily back home into various enterprises: construction, fuel, retail, etc.

Would love to invest there too but what's probability of getting any returns?

Ladane,
The probability depends on what sector you invest into and the country. In a stable nation like Tanzania, 30-40% is on the lower side of the ballpark during a bad year.

on another note theres a massive scandal in the UK. Some former banking cheif is getting 650k a year and he retired early at 50. That banking cheif ran the bank to the ground and the govt had to bail em out. That bank is now publicly owned, which means tax payers such as myself are paying some fat cat, 650k every year till he dies. Disgrace.

My trust level is very low when it comes to African Investment bro. You know when regime changes all the rules changes with it. You may lose all your hard earned retirement savings on this. I would rather trust stock market.

someone's losses is someone's gain. george sorros predicted this crisis for the last 2 years and made top $$$$$ for investors betting on the markets dipping.
u can get cheap machinery which u can move to africa and create industries specially seafood or garmaments production or buy cheap properties. only if u have the cash or a steady income to service cheap interest loans.
