sects?
I mean Babul Suufi iyo Salafi? Is there another sect that bridges the two? A sect that doesn't visit graves and at the same time doesn't make the Deen something extremely tight and anyone who doesn't identify with them is labelled Kaafir.
Here in Boston, they have two different mosques (I don't even know what sects they are) but I know that they do not trespass each other. So, I pray whichever mosque is close to me at prayer time and when one of them sees me going to the other mosque, he gets upset with me because I prayed with them yesterday.
Is there a middle ground between the two

Re: Is there a middle ground between the two
Thats the Quran for me..
I dont deny the Ahadiths and their importance , but lots of them are daciif or even false, not to mention those who contradict the Quran..I assume they are false of course..
So for me anything that the Quran does not say clearly and in context.. I take it with a grain of salt..but thats just me.

There are way too many sects. That's why it is best not to belong to any and be a Muslim fullstop.
...Axmadiya, Salafi, shafici, suufi, wahaabi etc etc all just give me a headache

Re: Is there a middle ground between the two
Luggoyo,
Those masjids are qabilist. My cousin told me that they forbid any collections to help the IDPs in Afgoye because the Masjid in Greenstreet is dominated by Darood. Then there is another shady Darood wadaad isku sheeg who stood in the way of the Good AA masjid in Roxbury from collecting funds for the Somali relief.
That being said, I only visit the Kamasle Hawiye, Issaq or Asian ones before going to a Darood one.

Luggoyo the Masjids in Boston are all over the place like AW said. I had a few problems with them when it came to fundraising me and some students did over the summer but the ones in TDot are by far worse, who knew qabiil affiliation would lead out even into the Mosques. Wallahi waan ka yaabey.
Oh and back to the topic title, I dont know.

Who are those people kept watching you when you go to one mosque to another? Are those mosques that close? or they have surveillant cameras so they can see who prayed there yesterday and who did not?
