The Economist; Just a glimmer of hope

Post by Warsan_Star_Muslimah »

For those interested in the motherland and the current situation, read this article inshallah.

You can read it on Hiiraan (I saw it there) or The Economist.

BO has enough problems locally given current economic problems. I doubt his administration will even care for the widening leftist populist taking place all over Latin America(assuming El Salvador elections is won by socialist FMLN this Friday). Still good luck to the new Somali Government and yes BHO sucks. Ha dhaco siduu sheegay Rush Limbaugh.

Somalia's salvation lies internally. outsiders, no matter how good intentioned, won't solve Somalia's problems until Somalis themselves are ready to deal with the cultural, economical and political stagnation since the '70s.

 You got that right. The problem we face today was inevitable because it's constituted to the broader issues that have built up since earlier times. I blame the mistrust between the Somalis, Somalis are too busy competing and playing off against each other when they should be working together for the sake of nation building.

Shabab ....want to create a pure Islamist state, with hopes of acquiring the Somali-populated bits of eastern Ethiopia and north-east Kenya. The caliphate that emerged would be governed under a rigid Wahhabist interpretation of Islam, very different from the easy-going, mystical Sufism practised by most Somalis
I never thought of Somalis as Suffis. Are we Suffi?

Day after day, we seem to learn who is holding Somalia in a hostage crisis. The warlords in the south wear different masks to obscure their intentions and replenish their insatiable thirsty of money and controlled domain.
I say, return Abdilaahi Yusuf and get rid of them.

No we are not sufis. These terms Suffis, Wahhabis etc are used by the enemies of Islam to divide muslims.

Our whole society is build on mistrust. A society where the strong takes all and the weak is looked down upon forces everyone to pick up a gun and fight to the death.

Still, i believe this government should be supported. It seems the most promising.

I wish the best the Sharif goverment desptite the fact that I diddn't endorse his choice of premier. For the sake of bringing back the pride of Somalia, I, for one, support this goverment.

70 years from now we'll be talking about these same issues.

Has anyone ever stopped to consider if the reason black Africa is generally so uncivilized and hellish is because of the people of Africa?

Isn't it possible that black Africans are genetically incapable of building and maintaining an economically and politically stable country?

Decent societies that provide for the well being of every member depend upon cooperation. Black Africans in general seem incapable of this sort of cooperation.

Plus, black Africans have the lowest average IQs in the world.

Read about it here:

Warsan,

I never understood these Xisbi opposition. They wanted Sharica and the Sharif is adopting it. They wanted a wadaad as President, they got one.

If this govt fails, the UN should take over Somalia as a Protectorate
