The Real Dhaanto

Post by guhad122 »

He kept the tradition of Dhaanto going....
"Waan ku deydayaaye Degmoow doow ma kaa helayaayeey"
Classic:

"Soo bax", I heard that is how many of our mothers and their mothers got married at the Dhaanto..The Barbaar would say "Soo bax" to the girl at the heat of the Dhaanto, then they would disappear together and next thing you know they get married.

Yep, my grandmother was taken (La labaxay ) from Dhaanto party. For the marriage age folks back then; Dhaanto parties were the only way to meet..People were busy minding their own businesses such as keeping the camels, goats, cattle.
