Cancer

Post by Aerosmith »

What would you do if you found out you have a rare form of cancer and the doctor on insisting gave it to you straight and said you have 10-12yrs top. Ma iska adkeysan laheed oo ceebtaa asturaneesaa and work harder than usual to achieve your worldly goals now that you have a time frame? Tell your folks or probably not as it will only cause them more pain and stress. Keep your head high and act as if nothing has changed. Thanks all.

Just praying to Allah, reading the Quran and visiting the Ka’ba if you can afford would be enough i guess. I heard a story once that a Somali woman visited the Dr because she wasn’t feeling well. He told her the bad news. AIDS! She went home and every night she used to pray, pray so hard asking Allah to cure her. The next visit to hospital and they said to her, we are sure you had this disease but it seems to gone away now!!! Hmmmm they were some what shocked, because they didn’t have the answer on how this happened.

I think it's a blessing in some way that you know you're about to die so no chance to put off things. I'm very close to my family they would know. Imagine if your brother had cancer wouldn't you want to be told?

Yes, but what good can it bring telling them. Might as well save them the trouble, worry and pain.

That's what family is for to be troubled with you, to worry about you and to share your pain. By not telling them you are denying them their right to look after you.

awww, subxanallah. ilaahay ha naga goriyo. honestly i don't know what i'd do. i would definitely tell my family! why hide it from them when i'm dying. especially when i need them the most. i mean what if u suddenly collapsed and died?! don't ur parents have the right to know why?!

Why do you see illness such as cancer to be something to be ashamed of? I can understand prejudice against aids but any other disease, no.

BV You think I want people to look after me, even my immediate family. That is selfish mate, wanting your family to share the burder and sufferings with you. Mate I'd rather die a normal active person than a patient & incapable person. Ilahay tas igama dhigo.

Sns the operative words here being ' you need them the most'. Isn't that wrong on its own.

Xamud sxb baa ceyb I meant share your troubles, xanuun and problems with people. Heck its not like they can help much here.

Niya why not. Would you want other to somehow 'empathy' with you. Camon' walal do you honestly think every damned person will care all of a sudden. Jabkaada waala qarsadaa.
