but to some ppl, it's become a habit.

I have this friend whom I am thinking of cutting him off because of backbiting. The worst part is, if you tell him to quit, he gets upset instead of being grateful.

I try to cut him short when he is maybe telling me a juicy gossip and say like "Ninyahow naga daa xantu ma fiicnee" he gets furious and calls me names. Why can't he see the goodness I am trying to do for him?

I just did it, I was trying to ignore the guilt lakin you have made it impossible.

Does it help if you apologise to the person?

I am glad I was of service to you. Yes it helps, but you have to recount everything you said about that person, also depends, if s/he accepts yr apology.

The phenomena these days is, the myth that "only women backbite" has evaborated, raggii baaba ka daray oo haweenkii dhaafay, belaayo

I am not trying to make excuses or justify anything here… but men that backbite; I seriously can't stand… I really and sincerely believe that he lacks something somewhere uhum!!

But either way… If i see someone backbite about people they know really well..
Personally I would never trust that person, chances are they will talk about you behind your back tomorrow.

Being honest about it.. might mean that they might not forgive you but at least you have beaten the initial concept of backbiting---( half way) Cafwan from me anyway

I HATE BACKBITING specialyy in the case of MEN . It's DISGUSTISTING .

But DEAR brothers&sisters KEEP in MIND that many ppl BELiEVE that through BACKBITING,LYING etc one BECOMES SOCIALIZED. THOSE PPL with LOW SELF-ESTEEM think that if they not TOOK part in BACKBITING , they woukld be STIGMIZED as ANTI-SOCIAL ( DAMMANE SHIBBAN ).
