Is life insurance considered haram or halal ? Can a monthly contribution to a insurance policy that will provide $XXXX to your family upon your death be considered as investment in a business ?

Well on the one hand, your putting a price on you life and that should be the case
On ther other hand, its a way to take care of your family should you depart from this world. I mean if its a single mother or a the father being the sole bread winner in the family...theres massive implications if they were to lose their lives on the family members that have been left behind.
So im on the fence.

MSnalia,
It is important to have your family taken care of especially if the children are minors and depend on you.

It s Halal if you lose trust in the one who created you, sustains you and promised every living creature his Irzaaq.
Save some money for your loved ones if you can.. while alive.. not earn them funny money when you die.. how many ppl get killed because of life insurance??

Cawar,
I do beleive in Irzaqa but why not supplement it.
As for people being killed for their policies, you can also be killed for your wealth.
