Barbaric cultures

Post by Highland »

Everything is relative, but not absolute.

The laws of Kenya outlaws the burning of theives. It's just an ancient cultural practice and it happens on rare ocassion.

However, let's recall the lynchings of blacks as recent as in the 60s, the current practice of the Mormon Church--a father impregnating several of his daughters at the same time, legal practice in some states. It's headquarter is in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The burning of family houses and hate crimes by white nationalists, arsonists, the daily discovery of ruthless killings such as mutilated bodies at the US-Mexico borders.

And as recent as 1971, women in Switzerland had no rights to vote.

What do all these savage and barbaric cultures and beliefs, yet rare cases and perhaps on the wane, have in common. It's relative, not absolute.
