I don't know the details beside the sacking of their current chairman and the fact that White Eyes has found his way into their ranks.

I'm not sure how they broke apart, but it must've been down clan lines since the guys from the central regions have their own clan-based agenda and I'm not sure if that flows with Turki since he's closer to Shabaab than Aweys.

The way I see it:

Party 1: UIC-Eritrea & Jabhatul Islamiya (Aweys & White Eyes)
Party 2: Ras Kambooni & Canoole (Turki & Mohamed Mire) ... possible future consolidation with Shabaab

while party 2 looks very daarood ...paidmonk thats not correct its just that indhacadde and his clik have once again shown their true colours,those who broke from the faction were disgruntled they didnt have postion's in the group

Party 1 is the reason why UIC fell apart in 2006. Its a Hawiye front. Why do you think the other half of UIC (Djibouti) were quick to join the new gov't?

Party 2 is Darood by association, its not a clan front like Party 1.

true but,
am not sure the entire asmara crew and jabhatul islaamiya are with indhacadde on this....hizbul islaam never should have accpeted him in the first place....we have to wait for statement's to come out of the the leader's of all four groups(ras kamboni,canoole,jabhatul islaamiya and casmara) as far as i'm concerned the deserter's are not leader's of any of those groups mentioned.

Aweys was the only guy who extended a hand and invited Indhocadde, he will once again bring his nephew to the fold.

And plus, its guys like Aweys & Indhocadde who were nothing but deserters. Turki's group all fought while the others were in luxury hotels, they don't even deserve to be in his league.
