Sharif 8th President of Somalia, yet no end of civil war
Aden Abdullah Osman
Abdirashid Ali Shermarke
Siyad Barre
Ali Mahdi of the Manifesto
Gen. Aideed of Sal-balaadh
Abdiqasim of the TNG
A/Lahi Yusuf of TFG
Sh. Sharif of the current TFG
I know of only four democratically-elect ed presidents and one military coup. Sheikh Sharif Ahmed is said to be the 8th president of the country. According to what I am reading, since the military regime was ousted in 1991, the country has gone through six president in just short 18 years. Of the six, three were elected by Somalis in a general election. But sadly none were able to put an end to the civil war. Cabdiqasim of Carta Jabuuti. Cabdulaahi of Nairobi and Shariif of Jabuuti.
Any lessons learned about their failure? Their weakness in politics or clan affiliation played a role in the demise of their presidency? How many more presidents would it take to see the country some order and stability?

thats not entirely true actually
Sharif's ICU wing is in Hiiraan and they support him while the control the whole gobol
he also has his ICU wing in Xamar but the problem is a few weeks ago they try to make a joint force between ICU and TFG forces and these idiots were fighting each other on the street of xamar
this is way past clan politics at the moment, but sharif himself has not done anything concrete to get somalia out of this mess
bringing more AU troops is not the answer

Cause he doesn't have troops of his own that can secure Villa Somalia for him and keep his hold on key areas in Mogadishu. Seeking foreign troops shows his weakness and I am pretty sure he won't get far with them.

When your uncle Beerdoofaar was in public office, i remember you trying your best to potray Mogadishu as a beacon of peace and stability with all those pictures of Abgaal audience watching football, boxing and basketball etc whilst there was carnage and conflict engulfing the entire city on a daily basis in the background. Laakin once your uncle was trafficked into Yemen all of a sudden you only want to see the bad in everybody else.
Waryaa, the fact is, the level of violence has gone down significantly and people are returning to their homes since Beerdoofaar and Habeshi returned to their sewages. Most bases and strategic positions in Muqdisho is guarded by the Islamic Courts who go under the order of Sh C/raxiin Ciise Caddoow, who in turn are a faction which are allied to the government. I am getting this from primary sources myself, and even Snetters like Kolombo and Diyeeshaha_Tolka will tell you the same.

war ninyaho I only want the best for Mogadishu our beloved capital. Whats happening their hurts us all. Sharif was made out to be our savior, we were told once he became president that would be the end of all wars marka I am just pointing out nothing has changed.
I only report what I read and these days people they not evening watching basketball, football or anything of that likes.
Most bases and strategic positions was always in the hands of the TFG there is nothing new there.

The kumeelgaar presidents are more importante in my book cause their job is to bring back the Somali state.

Bringing a large contingent of peacekeepers won't solve Somalia's problem. Over 20,000 UN troops from Dozen UN Member States came in early 1990s, Billions of USDollars spent and the outcome? MORE BLOODSHED. I believe for Sheikh Sharif to be succesful, the AMISOM troops have to go home and those Skinny Al-Qaeda wannabes' true intentions will be revealed. Even after all those moves and Al-Shabaab continues to fight, then another full scale civil war will follow. MORE BLOODSHED.
