Long Distance Shukaansi: An Utter Waste of Time

Why would anyone want to spend hours chatting on the phone ? How realistic is it that you can get to know someone who lives so far away ?

My roommate is getting grief from his girlfriend who lives on another continent for not calling enough mind you they speak every day on Yahoo!, email daily. His time and money are being wasted on phonecards and chatting.

Am I wrong but long distance is not definitely worth it and is too much effort.

The initial wanting feelings change after spending an entire weekend with them and reconciling what you learned over the phone & that person. Most of the time, they end up being two different people with the Ms. In person being much more weird than Ms. Phone.

At that moment, you rejoice knowing that she leaves your vicinity in days.

One word: Experience. Shidaal qaadasho and shukansi ku kor barasho. Yes, its a time waster, but what if its someone u call only when ur bored iyo waxaas? Someone YOU waste YOUR time on when ur on the subway goin home, in a line at the grocery store, runnin errands, or on ur break at work or something. You guys are talking about Hoes in different area codes, but who are we kidding really, its not like ur getting anything outta it or anything. SHE expects you to call her, SHE expects you to be faithful to her (whether u are or not is up to you, but ya gotta put the effort in convincing her all the time), Whenever you go to see her SHE expects you to bring her a gift or something, and cheap things dont show much uve missed her, either if u get ma drift) and when u finally do see her, as they say "mukulaalkastoo mininkeeda ayii miciyo libaax ku leehade", She WILL have the power to shut you down, lol. Anyway, its a lose lose situation, but all works out in the advantage of innocent little freshie girls who are just starting to perfect their social skills from the comfort of guriga hoyadood. And HEAVEN FORBID you feel special, as many of them talk to several of these guys simultaneously, or engage in these long distances for the short term, one after the other.

Btw, I'm not saying these things dont work out. They do. People DO get to know each other very well over the phone. I'm just saying that if they are serious with each other they should get together and make something of it (I.e Marry). FAST!
