Marrehan in central Ethiopia

8yrs ago, I was in Addis; there i met an old Majertain fellow who was left behind by the Italian invaders in Ethiopia. The elder's name was aadan-Baali i believe i was Cismaan Maxamuud MJ.
Aadan used to take a truck to somewhere near Addis and he used to bring with him a white honey, ghee and some other things from there, one day i asked him where he gets those things he said to me "not far from here there are people called Marehan Fajane, when i asked them if they are Somalis they say hell no, when i asked if they are Darod they asked me what Darod name meant, when i asked what Marehan they belong they said RE Hassan, then Re Fajane"
to me Fajane sounded like Amharic word but few yrs back i met Rer Xassan fellow who told me: Warmooge Fajane was his ancestor and he was the leader of Marehan in Hibno that was when someone cursed rer hassan"tusbax furtay noqda" and someone else saved " dhowrkii xabo ee tusbaxa ugu dambeeyay or hambo"

Reer Hassan are all over the place. I have never heard of the saying, "tusbax furte noqda" though. Abdirisak, have you ever heard of Baas La hele aka Baas Aaden?

There is no Tusbax furtey brother this is Somali thing and I heard it before, it is not reer xasan only but there is many other marehan subclans that got lost into the 400 conflict with Absynia, there are marehans in deep Ethiopia that become Oromised, some still live around the city of Harar and DireDawe and speak both Oromo and Somali they say they are Jeberti and ina nuur marehan.

There are others who joined jidwaq subclan in JIJIGA like Hodan Barre subclan of Jidwaq are pure Marehan and totally now become part of Greater absame, it happened in NFD too when the British colony fought with the Marehan a lot of marehan families were left them behind in Isiolo and Garisa area and didn’t have that much choice but to join Ogaden and other somali clans there up to now.

Because of marehan been foremost many wars in Absynia and colonial east Africa in the past, resulted those consequences.
