Iraq Definately...This is only the beginning. The Yomul Qiyamah will start very soon and the WAR OF ALL WARS WILL BEGIN with the emergence of the Mahdi and the second coming of Issa (as).
Michael---u are right for now...what about a year from now? I think the casualty number will increase and they will invade Iran and that should let the ball rolling.
They lack the faith....Here you have a man who wants to just fight and come back to his life and family...and there you have muslims who are going so they can DIE for the cause.....how can you compare the two? one wants to survive, while the other wants to die!
A year from now, i'll think the U.S will try to pass the buck to another foreign power, in order to avoid a straight up defeat. As for Iran, I think it's all hot air. They've already blown their bankroll on Afghanistan and Iraq, so I don't think they can afford to invade Iran. But you WILL hear a lot of idle threats, and possibly talk of a trade embargo.
These are the type of discussions where MAD MAC is missed. The dude was brilliant in this field.

You are right--There is not comparison! Especially with a man who goes to war expect to go home safely with a full pocket, and has real no reason to fight! If he dies, what is he dying for? His country? PLEASE
America did not lose a single battle in the Vietnam war but lost the war. This shows that winning battles alone deosn't mean you win the war. Hence, america is losing Iraq war (overall) even though they have won every battle.
But its wrong to compare Iraq war and Vietnam war. The north Vietnamese were regular army. With formations, uniforms, chain of command and central authoritative figure (HO CHIN MIN). They were distinguishable from the populations as they wore their military uniform. They had not only common goal but system to replace once they defeated the US.
The Iraqi insurgents on the other hand are nothing but punch of ragtag militia, with the only thing they got in common is their hate for the US. They have no leader as well as no plan after they defeat the US. Therefore them winning this war is not good for Iraqis and the world.
If they defeat the US, they will turn on each other. As did the somli after they overthrew Siad Barre and Afghan mujahidiin. If they win, they will plunge iraqi into civil war. Iraqi being major oil producer, the international oil prices, already at record high, will skyrocket. Probably have a devastating effect on major economies, maybe lead to world wide economic recession.
It is not in the best interest for both Iraqis and non-iraqis in this world for the insurgents to win. This is not a fact lost on the US decision makers.
