Habar Yonis Might.

Post by Somalistan »

In 1877 H/yonis forces commanded by Guuleed xaaji Axmed sugulle raided Daroor, which at the time was inhabited by the Ogaden clan. A bloody battle took place that it was named 'haro dhiig'. The Habar Yonis warriors lost 120 of their invading men. They took over daroor but also they captured Cali Garaad, sultan of Ogaden, rer isaaq, maxamed subeir. When he was captured he pleaded for his life saying " i shouldn't be killed for iam an old man iam a sultan tell that to your king Xirsi (xirsi Amaan, the sultan of HY at the time)". When the message was relayd to Xirsi Amaan, Xirsi said "Laba Gob Kii Beer Jilicsan Baa Jaba" meaning among two equals the soft hearted shall perish and he ordered his excution. Yes the Ogaden sultan, their army commander. imagine.

From that date on, the H/Yonis continued their onslaught and anahilation of the Ogaden and reached Ribadle North of Beledwayne, Hiiraan. By 1928, the H/yonis took over 1200KM of Ogaden darood land. They killed the second Ogaden sultan Ugaas who was rer Abdille and they named the spot "Ugaas Ku Xaar" = where the ugaas defecated.... that place still bears the name to this day.   there are many calaacal poems of their defeat among them 'doqonkii ogadeen ahaa doono laga qaad".

In 1935, the Italians invaded Ethiopia and armed the darood. The daroods used their newly acquired weaponary to push back the H/Yonis. In 1942 again when Haile Salasie returned to Ethiopia he apointed the son of Mad Mullah's Cabduraxmaan cabdulle Xassan as Interior Minister. The biggest betrayal of somali history. To this day not a single Isaaq has ever betrayed his people and his country like this like daroods like cabduraxmaan cabdale xassan and Yusuf beerlaawe have become accustomed to. He used those arms to push the H/yonis back to danood, and that is where H/Yonis are at today.

The Omanies were always traders, they used to bring dates from Basra via Suur (the southern omani sultanates competing with Masqad). From Berbera to west Zaylac and Maakhir coast the Arabs were always around in Somaliland,.

Guuleed was the Ciidagale sultan, it was the H.Y sultan who raided Bulaxaar with his 1000 horse men and his 3000 "kaboole" foot army. Xirsi Amaan it was, not Guuleed, Xirsi Amaan married the grand daughter of Guuleed, Ammina Awarala herself a poet princess who composed a good poem when Xirsi was killed in 1888.

No. What happened was the son of Xirsi and the son of Guuleed fought and the son of Guuleed got killed and the son of Xirsi got injured. Guuleed came to Xirsi asking for a compensations, Xirsi said " you asking me for a compensations while the son of Xirsi Amaan is injured" the wise Guuleed replied " i can't choose between been without a son and without a kin ( if i was compled to avenge him). When Xirsi refused the compensation the war began and Xirsi mounted in his best horse having threwn both lances at an enemy tried at last to run him over with his horse while the other flang his arrow , Xirsi thus was killed, and Guuleed Xaaji died of an old age after been blind for years.

Among the best of Guuleed Xaaji's perdiction was , that the Ciidagale sultantes will go down when the sons of the Nuux Ismaaciil women ascend the thrwon, which took place in the reign of Faarax,

In one session the H.Y asked the wise Guuleed to relate his experince of women , for half of the day he stated his own coined idioms, and everytime he stated a saying they asked for more " maad maah maahine maah maah" and he said

Dumar waa caruur cag weyn

and the H.Y asked again " maad maah maahine maah maah"

and finally he said

Naag Taad Barataaba Ba'an.
