On my current assignment, I work with coworkers from Iran, Kurdistan, Iraq, India, Morocco, Mexico and Mongolia. So, with this Somali piracy, I have been on the spot light and yesterday I was emailing one of them saying "attacked please find.." instead of "attached please find..." so some cracked jokes here and there.

Does your coworkers or school mates discuss Somali current affairs with you? And how do you react to what they say?

Somalia for Dummies:

1. Pirates come ProAmerican Region of Puntland

2. For 6 months in 2006 there was no piracy because of the Islamic Courts who cracked down hard on these pirates

3. The US Govt and Ethiopia helped destroy the Islamic Courts who had ended piracy and replaced them with a government in exile lead by a Guy from the Pirate Den of Puntland.

4. The same guys who got rid of the Piracy are severely weakened to do anything while Pirates of Puntland attack American ships while still getting US aid.

5. Solution lies in helping equip/train and bolster the Federal forces to seize Puntland and its pirates.
