Do You know the American Civil War ended in just 1865 and after that unofficial slavery existed for about another 40 years (Sharecropping, Where the Plantation owner pays for their food, tools to farm etc. and in return they still farm the land. I remember working a security job during school and talking to the Black doorman who was about 90 years old, and His Grandfathers were slaves. He said When He was growing up if a White Man is riding by You on His horse You have to bow down to the Man AND His horse! In Virginia, riding on the Highway You still see the old plantations Where the slaves used to Be, along with confederate flags sometimes and it used to give Me the chills. When You think about it slavery ended just about a 145 years ago so the average African American, their Great Grandparents or maybe even Grandparents lived during slavery
When You think about this, its no wonder Why African Americans masakiimaha are still having a hard time. Slavery is still fresh in their psyce, and its going to take many more generations to completely eradicate the psyological effects of slavery. Soomlia was blessed as if it was on the slave trade route they would have been brought Here in chains also. The reason it was able to happen in West Africa is due to it being the closest to N America, in addition to the local Africans there selling each other out, something surely Soomalis would have done. A Darood would have sold a Hawiye and a Hawiye a Darood etc. if they Had the oppritunity.
African Americans a strong people
