Somaliland is unrecognized country and as you know Ethiopia is one of few markets that are available to us right now. Allowing Ethiopia to use Berbera port produces income revenue for us. Anything to economically sustain us is therefore welcomed. Those who believe that Ethiopia is an evil neighbor are wrong. We should continue to conduct business transaction with them, have them and continue to strengthen our relations with them. Currently many somalilanders take and bring goods to and from Ethiopia. Ethiopia opened its borders to us in 1988, when our homes were bombed by zoomalians and more than half million of somalilanders fled across the border and were sheltered in ethiopia.
