most people aren't settling there permanently

they all go to the west back and forth or they got investments nearby
its good to have a home though there

Helwaa, $100,000 house is pretty good with all the works... why pass it up when the same size house here in the USA might cost 5 times more?

It is not a bad idea to invest back home, but absolutely not at the expense of kids...So many Somali families are starving their kids in order to buy a house back home...Anigaa kaa guri weyn attitude..Not even a necessity most of the time..Kids are refused to have any decent living that is why they resort into gangs and stuff..

Building a house back home is never a bad idea, I'm totally for it. it does make a good get away from the west for change.

Walle guriyahaasi waa tacab khasaare....bal lacagta caruurta laga qadiyey haday bal oo aayayana ciil ma qabeen ee dadka kale ayaa aakhirka iska qaadaneya.

Aniga waxay ilaa tahy when you're 100% sure that you will move back build a house..dont waste ur savings on empty house or one someone els will raise 10 children init and by the time you want it it's to late...it's already his.

building a house in somalia/land is hectic

once you build it one of your cousins moves in
i've seen that happen countless times

best thing to do is buy land or plots and develop it once somalia is normal
and move back permanently

I rented out mine home in Somalia, Screw relatives, they wont value the home and trash it.

Every month a measily 400$ profit on a home of only 25.000$ in Bosaso.
