The fourth pirate from this particular episode has been arraigned in New York and will be tried as an adult, regardless of what his actual age may turn out to be. This may actually be the more serious aspect of this case, if American courts are found to have jurisdiction and US prosecutions become the norm.

Easy. If the US and other maritime countries decide to operate on the notion that piracy is an international crime for which all countries have jurisdiction, the catch and release program is over. Theft, kidnappiing and murder will be dealt with as such.

The Turks, the EU etc, have pledged large dollars towards building a national army to bring just this situation under control. The problem is that until that happens, Somali sovereignty of her seas, and possibly of some of her land areas used to confine hostages, may disappear for a while.

Is that serioius enough for you?

So far, just a likely conjecture.

Apparently no for us..We are busy on each other, no one cares about sovereignty at all...Just how many misinters my clan got from the TFG or how come my clansman is not the elected president
