Nairobi (AFP) - An Arsenal fan in soccer-mad Kenya hanged himself following his team's 4-1 aggregate drubbing by arch-rivals Manchester United in the Champions League semifinal, police said on Wednesday.

Suleiman Alphonso Omondi, a 29-year-old Kenyan living in the capital Nairobi's Embakasi neighbourhood, hanged himself in his Arsenal shirt late Tuesday after the match, police said.

Kramer, my cousin who used to live in Mogadishu before the ICU took over told me that many people died over soccer matches there when disgruntled fans threw bombs in Mogadishu theaters where the games were being broadcasted. There was a one particular incident that was covered by all the Somali internet news outlets where a lot of people died a Juventus fan killed many people in a theater/cinema.
