I can't speak for Marexaan, even though I'm sure some of our misled teenagers are fighting on the side of the lunatics. Either way runti its a messed up day for Soomalis. Who would of though "Islamist" groups would fight each other, do they have different Religions?

Most sane puntland people and somali's for that matter support sharif's government and any chance at peace, over a group of directionless teenagers who have no long term goals for somalia. If al shabab continue attacking other somali's, they will eventually loose the support of the local populations in the south because they don't have the ethiopian excuse anymore, and once they loose that, they are done.

I think most puntlanders support sharif government due to the fact their is high level participation of puntlanders in the parliament. However i don't think they see the long term prospect of this disaster that just won't work. South are not prepared for governance, stability, prosperity AND puntland should really think if it's worth dealing with people who just don't want PEACE.

Maybe we should form an alliance with peaceful ppl in the jubbaland, rahanweynland, etc and create a new union and appeal to to the united nations by using puntland strategic location the "gulf of aden" and also mentioning the "al shabab infested" south which wants to destroy western interest in the region also for new independence.

I think if we darood sitt at roundtable i am sure we can get independence with months unlike the dumb idors :P who have been sitting there for 17 years in ghost state.

So what do people think, you think we can use puntland stategic location and al shabab threat and go to the united nations and form a new union with rahaweyn, jubbaland we will recover 70% of the original somalia land. Just missing a few pockets in hawiye territory and isaaq territory. Similar to a israel and west bank border sort of thing. Very plausible idea i believe..any thoughts !!!!

Brother listen, do you want to be worrying in 20 years time why the south is still fighting and killing, when we could be building agricultural sector from jubbaland, rahanweynland and use puntland natural resources to start educating the people boosting literacy, building medical facilities and extending life expectancy and seeing the country turn into a functioning state that is going places. Or you want to just stay in this tango with the hawiyes for another 20 years with more dead hawiyes and nothing gained in literacy, medical, foreign investment, and development aspects of country.

Thats what it comes to now really. Since 2000 this shit has been going on, we could've of spent 8 years forming a state with people who want to be apart of state. Hawiye don't want that and noone can force them to. So lets just worry about our interests.

there was a time when it was easy to support a group, it was easy to say that group A are the good ones and B are the bad ones and so on. we knew where the war was heading (so we thougt anyway) but now it so messed up. is not just simply about qabiil v qabiil. is deeper and nastier than we thought. religious men fighting against each other, against the government, against galo against civilians. war against everything. heck i dont even know whats going on anymore, who's who, and which side we suppose to support. im so lost when it comes to somali politics. i think ama stick to the European Politics i've been studying for the last two yrs. at least their wars are now over, its just "histroy" lol. and hopefully will give me a job in the EU or as a civil servent. my dreams of somalia is been ruined completely ruined!!. my dreams of going to live in galkacyo and working there to help orphange kids are ruined! britain baan kugaboobayaa. f thats sad. :|
