Fierce clashes between Shabaab and a more moderate Islamist militia, Ahlu Sunna, in the central region killed at least five people on Tuesday in Mahas town, witnesses said. "Al Shabaab fighters ran into a mosque for refuge, but residents kept firing at them with rocket-propelled grenades," local man Aden Hussein said by telephone from Mahas, which lies southwest of El Bur, a major Shabaab stronghold since 2006. Local elders later intervened, he added, and persuaded the Shabaab gunmen to lay down their arms. The 126 rebels were briefly held captive, then released, residents said.

I was chilling with this Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jameeca cleric recently. He told me how he despised Qeybdiid until when Qeybdiid stood up to defend the religion from the Bidca From that moment on, he always makes a dua for Qeybdiid.

Nothing has happened in Mudug, yet. Most of their battles were in Galgaduud. They cleaned Al Shabab from Galgaduud except Ceel Buur

I will be honest, once Xamar is consolidated, it will take between two hours and six hours to end the Ahlu Sunna myth. Am I the only one who thinks its a complete joke? When did Sufis have militias? Isn't there mission "peace."

If Ahlu Sunna have power, they will go to Xamar and protect the Sufi way of life all over Somalia instead of a string of villages that despite anything have remained stable...which raises the question - who did Ahlu Sunna fight in order achieve power? No one. Its just the TFG/ICU appointed governors changing colors to take advantage of the climate. Just like Al-Shabaab have rallied locals in support of their way, the ICU warlords have rallied Sufis to fight their way.

Ahlu Sunna fighters are not fueled by ideology, the areas they come from are donkey villages with the collective intellectual capacity of one Al-Shabaab student/fighter. Ahlu Sunna fighters are fueled by clan & regional interest, its like Puntland or Galmudug without legitimacy. All Somalis are Sufis, and its in Sufi nature not to expand influence, if it didn't happen for so long it won't happen in today's intellectually-devoid Somali society.

I'm sorry but the truth hurts. And I must say, Puntland should bring Galmudug to its senses and detach itself from this Ahlu Sunna joke. Even President Sharif didn't trust those morons.

This whole Ahlu Sunna phenomenon is a bigger joke than Maakhir & Jubbaland myths combined.
