I remember 2 occasions where I told these 2 Somalis they didn’t look Somali.

The 1st time was with a group of friends and I said 2 this 1dude.. “U know at 1st I didn’t think u were Somali… I assumed u were west African”

He got kinda angry


2nd time was when I said 2this xamari girl that I thought she was Kenyan instead of Somali…

She completely disagreed and was hostile 2wards me.



Jeeez relax, looking west African or any other African 4 that matter doesn’t make u any less beautiful. Somalis and their psychological issues

I actually do that all the time, but I usually have an agenda, I ask girls if they are mixed with (cadaan, arab, asian) even if they look like whoppie goldburg, alla maxeey farxaan like they get a small orgasm or something, lakinse once u mention west or bantu african, it's like they wanna kill u.

I do sometimes have hard times differentiating between Somalis/Ethio/Eriterian/Sudanese/Nubian people but most of the time, I rarely tell anyone what nationality i think they are!

I don't understand why anyone would be offended Oxy. Being African and looking African is a blessing, those girls should start appreciating their strengths - be proud African Queens

Black velvet, Africans and Somalis are two different races.
We are Arabs and look more Arabs than Africans.
Early Europeans described Somalis as "Handsome Arabs" exactly.

The only reason I hold back my thoughts when it comes to Arabs is out of respect for the Prophet (pbuh). If it wasn't for him and Islam, I don't think I would even consider learning Arabic or anything to do with that culture. I can accept that West and East Africans don't look the same but regardless of that I am African and not an Arab. That matters to me more than what Europeans thought/think we look like.

but i notice is blacks and Africans dont like somalis BECAUSE of how they look. Oxy, don't you know the name "Africa" itself is a colonial nomenclature. It does not reflect a collective identity for the people and the races of the continent. There are Arabs and Berbers from North Africa, Bantus from Central and West Africa and different other races.
Somalis are made up of different ethnic groups but majority are of Arab origin. For instance, the descendents of Sheikh Abdirahman Bin Ismail and Sheikh Isxaaq.
For a long time, Arabic was the lingua franca in Somalia and Zeila and Bandar-Qasim were principal Arab emporiums on the world map.
Men like Ahmed Bin Ibrahim aka axmed Gurey, Emir Nur of Harar, Sayid Mohamed bin Abdullah, Sultaan Mohamoud Ali, have all related to their Hashemite origin and used Arabic as the official language of their states.

It's ridiculous and annoying to categorize Somalis as Africans. I can't stand such people with their severe low self-esteem not to mention their ignorance of Geography and History.
