Understanding The Afar People (INTERESTING)

Post by Oxy- »

Afar are an ethnic group in the Horn of Africa who reside principally in the Danakil Desert in the Afar Region of Ethiopia, as well as in Eritrea and Djibouti. They number 1,276,374 people in Ethiopia.

There was a documentary I watched (briefly, cuz I missed a bit)... I couldn't stop thinking of how strikingly similar these people look to Somalis.

The way they look, dress and behave completely Somali !! ... It focused on a small village... a group of people in a small community.

One of the things that made Me THINK was when the white man asked the little boy what the name of the goat was called.... and the boy replied :

His name is AFASA

when asked the translation, AFASA means RED MOUTH.... Say this in Somali and we call it AF-CASI right ?

Another time, 1 man was pointing at a woman carrying water and said GABAH - translation = woman
In Somali we call it GABAD ...??

The 3rd n final time a mother was suckling her baby and I overheard another woman ask her about breastfeeding when she uttered the word NAYES...

What are u thinking right now... ?

Naas right

SO was I !!

But am not 2sure whether Naas in Somali means breast or Nipple :| (can some 1 clear that up 4me)

Anyways... these people must have originated from Somalia a thousand years ago and then probably moved to Ethiopia... that's what I think

Are you telling me you've never heard of Afar people?

They are closely related to Somalis and Oromos. But they are more pure since Oromos are Habesh, Arab and Bantu and Somalis are Arab and Bantu fucked.

They are beautiful, them and Saho are pure tribes.

They are calling themselves Red Mouth because those ones are from the Red tribe which are considered the rulers. Most people have no clue that Afar have something in common with Indians which is a caste system. But they are great people and the only ethnic group in ethiopia who werent disarmed after melez came to power. they are known to be ruthless.

Afar sounds like very broken Somali so does Oromo. If you listen carefully you could understand them or atleast understand the subject they are talking about.

I have a Bilen friend (Bilen are Cushitic people from Eritrea) and sometimes if he speaks his native language I always find some words I understand (non-Arabic)
