Salafii or salafii oo saxiix are the 3 first generations of Muslims Who are muhamamd companions and the 2 generations after them taabiciin and the tabaciin a tabicin ,, its not a madhab sufii is not a madhab to
suni is not a sect its madhab
There are just a few different things between the to ahl suufii show there love for the prophet while salafis says you should not show the love for your prophet. And just little minor things, and things like Dikri loud dikir some salafi scolars say don’t say things out loud keep it quiet while the Sufi sheikh say dikirulilah u can say it out loud. 3th thing is ziyaaras , the salafis see ziyaaras as shirk and that people worship Old saints but its just a simple duca for those Muslims who passed away. And last but not least Mawlid al nabi forbidden by salafis while sufis says Muhammad the prophet used to fast on Mondays and There are hadiths saying that Muhammad said Monday is blessed day because that was the day i was born. These kind of things ayaa lugu kala duwanyahay.

The Salaf were the first 3 generations of the Muslims i.e. The sahaba, tabi'un and the ones who came after them. The Prophet (saw) said they were the best generations of his ummah. Today, you have 2 groups that call themselves either Salafi Jihad or Salafi-Jadiid (The neo-Salafis)/Salifiyuun, but they are not the actual Salafis, they are imitators.

Salafi Jihad are groups like Al-Qaeda and even Al-shabaab, because they see themselves as fighting fisabililah and their aim is to establish a Muslim caliphate. To them anyone who stands in their way even if that person is a Muslim can be killed, as long as the main goal is achieved.

Their opposite are Salafi-Jadiid who are also known as Madkhalis, named after a Saudi Sheikh called Rabee' Al-Madkhali who founded them in the early 90s. They discourage political Islam and Jihad. They claim any government is better than no government. They are a mouth-piece for the Saudi government.

Sufis and Salafis are both Sunnis, but they are very different from each other. Salafis are closer to the correct teachings of Islam, eventhough they have many flaws in their manhaj. Sufis came about 400 years after the Prophet's death (saw). They are mostly deviants who take part in many non-Islamic practices e.g. grave worshipping, praying to dead "awliyah" i.e. friends of Allah for favors, etc.

Once upon a time I was really interested in finding out the difference between all these groups but I found out to be useless, and only divided the ummah. Being Muslim should be enough.

But to try and answer ur question, Salafi was the first few generations after the prophet s.a.w. So technically there is no such thing as a salafi today. Those who call them self salafi claim they follow the prophet and salaf and that is the way they practice Islam.

Sufi are members of the qadiriya started by sheik abdulqadir jeylani. They did a lot in spreading Islam and to my own understanding they focus a lot on inner prayer and purifying ones self.

Both say they are Sunni Muslim.

Hope that helped.

Kolonbo you are wrong.

The founder of suffi is Ali ibn abu talib!!

And if you had to choose between salafi vodka saudi and Sufism then sufism is much more better.

politically in somalia

The ahluu sunna wal habash ==> is been created by the habash government and are just hijacking the sufis order to oppose the sharia which is championned by alshaabab.
Do not not get confused the mutiple name in somalia and the reality in the world of islam order.

Salafi are just a sect and very dangerous to somali women especially

the prophet said that there will be 73 sects within islam and all of them will go to hell except for one.
Follow the quran, the sunnah of the prophet and the sahih hadith and you shall be fine.

if you start dancing like the sufis or grave worshipping like the barelvis or start calling a man a divine power like ahmedis then goodluck because in akhiro you will end up somewhere very unpleasant

hadith read elan

Anas ibn Mâlik (radiyallâhu `anhu) said that the Abyssinians (Habashîs) danced in front of the Messenger of Allâh (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam); dancing (yarquSûn/raqS) while saying "Muhammad is a Righteous Servant (Muhammadun `Abdun Sâlih)" (in their dialect/language). Allâh's Messenger (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) asked, "What are they saying?" And they responded, "Muhammadun 'Abdun Sâlih!".

surrender walaal...you will only get a big headache

those two are sects of sunnism..though sufis r not exclusive to sunnism..and can be found even among the shia..albeit in smaller quantities.

just be a Muslim and take the good from everywhere ...both sects have their share of nutcases wallahi..

We all have commonalities ..focus on them rather than the differences...and reject anything that is *exclusive* to them....and reject any attempts at conversion.

I am not a Sufi.. BUT my local Masjid follow the Naqshabandi Sufi tariqah i went there with an open mind and it was an exhilarating experience and they were NOT dancing around or anything ...we prayed Maghrib (the same Maghrib EVERY Muslim prays)...after that we read many surahs..made salawaat on the Nabi (they introduce drums at this stage)...read a lot of Dhikr..tahliil tasbiih etc...repeated the 99 names of Allah etc. However if they asked me to make a pledge of allegiance to their Shaykh Nazim..i would answer with an emphatic NO.Muslim is good enough for me.Alhamdullilah no one asked me what i was..no one asked me to be a sufi..noone told me i was misguided....we all sat in a circle and i joined in.

wallahi when i left there..i thought to myself...how come i have never done anything like this before?..you should all try it.

Im cool with all sects even Shias (dont agree with them on some things but they are my fellow Muslim brethren)...however i must say i dislike Salafis as a **group** <<take note pls more than other sect

sufis are not muslims. they think they are but they are not.

mystic worship and dancing like hyenas in religious gatherings is not an islamic practice. i dont know the authencity of the hadith you posted or even the point of it but sufis are just a bid'aa group

and the somalis i know dont dance like mad men in the masjid as far as i am concerned.

The fact of the matter is that the word sufi was not even a word that existed during the prophet's time. As with all these sects. they were formed after the death of the prophet.
