Where do you want to be buried?

I seriously don't want to be buried in the west. I was born in Mogadishu, but don't want to be buried there either.

Perhaps I should get closer to my ancestors, but what will they do for me once I dead.

Want to be buried in Galkayo along side the lake there.

How about you guys?

Islamically you cannot be buried in the place you fled which means none of us can be buried in Somalia. If we choose to go to another country fleeing Westernization/commericialism/moral decay then that is where we should be buried and if not and continue to stay in the West we have to be buried there.

The prohet was buried in Medina and not Mecca for a reason.

From what I know, where you die is more important than where you are burried. There's a verse in the Qur'an that talks about taking the soul of Muslims in non-Muslim lands and how they will be severly questioned about it. It was sent to warn the Muslims who stayed behind in Mecca after the Prophet (saw) and most of his followers fled Mecca. But applies to all Muslims who remain in kuffaar lands without valid excuse and die there. We must all make every effort to move to Muslim land and die there to save our souls.

Ideally, Makkah. But realistically, it's hard to be buried there unless u know somebody that knows somebody that knows 2 people that know somebody, since getting citizenship is difficult.

ilaahay meeshu igu talgalay. I don't think I have a choice in my burial ground. However, I would love to be buried in a muslim land, odds are it may not happen.

We fled from Mogadishu and not Somalia. Just like the prohet fled from Mecca and not the whole Gulf states.

But we took my Paternal Grandfather all the way to where his father is and mother are buried because that was his wish. He wasnt even born there.
