Adoption

Ever since I was a young, around the age of like 12, I use to always say I want to adopt a child; my family has heard of my adoption to be, inshallah, for years now. Every movie, or book, or real account of a mistreated, or parent-less, foster care child I always thought of adopting. To help some kid, to make their life better as much as possible. Now as I get older I am 100% I want to adopt, I do not know how many but for sure one. Btw most Somalis seem to be lost in assuming you want to adopt means you don't want no children of your own, which I do and however much Allah grants me at that.

How many of you think of adoption, or want to adopt?

Shiribs cousin will be my first adopted son.

adopted children are not your 'real' children. Its a waste of time, believe me. The bond between a biological child and their parent is strong. Its not fair for the child and not fair for u. U can never love the child like your own and the child can never love u like their own parent. The bond between real parent and child is strong.....and even the love.It is unconditional.Adopted love is conditional, the child will always feel u r not theirs, mistreat or ignore u, there is no that needed & necessary automatic love. Sadeboi dont waste your time, have your own! After having your own, then adopt, for back up plan.

Somalis do need to become at the minimum foster parents especially for Somali children taken away by Social Services. There is a strong need for Somali foster parents.

Yes i wouldnt mind adopting ...but first a Person needs to have their own kids in order to know what its like to have a child....and also, i dont think i'll be able to ever tell that kid that im not his father..

It is noble gesture you want to adopt as a lot of our kids are in need for adoption. My question to you is

1. Do you have kids?
2. Can you support them Financially?
