does cell phone theft warrant amputation??

Post by hanqadh »

a gang of somali's in mogadishu we're recently captured by Al-shabab and brought before an al-shabab shariah court, they we're accused of stealing various items mainly mobile phones from mogadishu residents, they we're sentenced to amputation of the right hand and the left leg? is this correct according to the shariah, keep in mind after this is executed these men will become paralysed therefore will be unable to support themselve's economically, they would have to be supported the rest of their live's which will be burden upon their poor families.

wouldnt a jail sentence satisfy the crime.

amputations are part of islamic sharia no one can deny it.but the way it is fullfilled by the alshabab terrorists is just wrong, the amputees need a lifetime moral, financial support and these groups cant afford.

very true, i know whats with leg but?

and yeah the time is very unsuitable for a sentence like this to be carried out.

i wonder why the big sheikhs and our culumaa dont speak about these case's, while leaving it to semi-sheikhs

I don't know why people care so much about the thieves, what about the guy who lost his weekly income because of the theft? You have to pick the bigger evil and strike it hard. At least now businesses know that the next thief will think twice. Overall, its above ethics, its good for the economy to protect businesses.

Depends how many mobile phones they stole and how often they stole them. Was it armed or amateur, was it organised or out of desperation? I mean if every teenager who stole some sweets from the pick n mix section or lip-gloss or a comic book or even a phone had their right hand and left leg amputated you'd have an entire generation of the working force hopping around everywhere they went. Perhaps some people just want to use those limbs as stars on their Islamic Rule C.V.

6 Somalis were beheaded in Saudi Arabia in 2005 for Armed robberies. So I'm not suprised by this.

Al-Shabaab I'm sure will behead people just for breathing air if they get their way.

What’s with leg horta? bisinka! I thought when you steal something, your left hand, the next time you commit the same crime, the right hand, and then left leg, right leg, and so on! That’s what I thought anyway. Regardless thief is a thief and I don’t have problem bringing justice to our country, but it’s the people that bringing these justices that I have problem with. As I said before how could a murder condemn the action he committed himself? Isn’t that hypocritical
