Does any1 of you have an explanation to this:

Why so so much poverty and high rate of every transmittable diesese in African Americans? "The system" is not enough execuse coz immigrants are striving in America!

I just can't understand

If you read a little more...you just might. Otherwise, you just sound ignorant. Immigrants are "striving"? Where is your proof?

There are also MANY more middle class black americans than poor. What makes you think the majority of black americans have AIDS and live in the projects?

That said...America is STILL a white country with high levels of racism. The immigrants that come here already have money and a plan. Living here you whole life is a completely different situation.

Black Americans have a big problem, there is no social-order, there is no unity and there very fragile when it comes to talk about their problems. for example Bill Gosby tried to shed a light on some of the problems there really need to focus but they critized him and even threatened. so they need to have one leader, they need to have a strong community. otherwise they will stay this way forever.

Bill Cosby didn't shed light on ANYTHING. He just re-stated problems that have been in existence since Jim Crow. Then he ripped parents that name their children "Keniqua". Who gives a @#$# what somebody names their child. I rather be named "Keniqua", than "Bill".

He got ripped because he offered no solutions and attacked the WRONG people. There is only so much a single mother who works 60 hours a week for nothing can do. The problems we face lie MUCH deeper than what some simple minded comedian sees on the surface, from his Beverly Hills home.

The problem is that this white US government comes up with a beautiful idea of "welfare to work", but fails to realize what is really needed is "adult education to work". But...somebody needs to work these low-wage jobs, so guess whats the easiest way to get them filled?

Before anyone wants to reply to this thread, I suggest they thoroughly read a book on Sociology, and the history of US race relations.

#1. That last statement couldn't be further from the truth. How about you take a look at the birth rate to make your comment full and with sense.

#2. You can use words like "adoon", but looking at the situation in Somalia, a place under the control of 4 outside nations at ONE time in the past, I don't see what gives you the right to stick your rediculous nose up!

In the begening, the black american kids are raised by single parents. The single parents work double shifts to live. While the parents are out, most black american children are more likely getting popped or getting drugged. Then they end up in the streets. The risks of them being homless or being introduced to prostitution are very high at that point.

Immigrants are striving in America and that's the fact whether u don't like to hear it or not. And of course most poor and uninsured Americans are black. I have nothing against my fellow black Americans and I consider myself to be one and I am not bashing any1 - I just raised a valid point.

You must be a delusional high school drop out and you think every body is like you, listen heifer, I am surrounded by over-achievers and they are all Somalis, hell with in my immediate family alone, and most of the Somali cats I know excel in education and are doing great things, if your family is illiterate and is getting hand outs from their foreign host, than speak for yourself shawty. In my neck of the woods we don’t ask for hand outs!!! As far as kids go, it is a blessing to have kids if Allah blesses you with one every year so be it, at least they know who their parents are.

Now to the issue at hand, I am utterly grateful to what I have achieved in this B-itch of a country so far and strive to accomplish in the years to come in huge part due to the sacrifices and struggles of the African-American, however I refuse to augment to the notion of “the system is holding us back disease”!!! Granted that slavery and annihilation of one’s dignity for over centuries eats at the fabric of one’s innate being, but that should and must not explain why over 70% of all new Hiv. Infections amongst women in the U.S are African-American females, it shouldn’t explain why over 67% of all households are headed by single females, why an overwhelming majority of African-American males have little or no respect for their sisters and mothers, parading them naked at every chance they get to make a quick buck!!! It is amazing how engraved the disrespect and the apathy toward females are amongst Black males. Even the educated and so-called sophisticated bunch, recently I was amongst 6 of my friends all African-American, 4 of which had a college degree and I mentioned to one of them that his jacket was off the chain, he grinned from ear to ear and responded to me “ yea dawg my B-itch bought it for me” with out blinking, mind you this is the chic that he so loves the other guys laughed and gave him some dab!!!! This is not the first time I heard some shyt like that either!!!!! I was like this is so the norm and not the exception that all these fools are applauding at this shawty’s so called “machismo game” !!!!! And it certainly shouldn’t explain why there is absolutely no respect in the young for the old. It is even worse when you know the reasons that your community is dysfunctional and you continue to perpetrate those very reasons through generations to come!!!!! I agree with ERROR on this one. Blaming on the “SYSTEM” isn’t good enough excuse. Regardless of the historic facts that opportunities are denied for blacks in America, things are changing. America is pure Capitalism country where individuals are responsible the direct outcome of their future. Yes things are harder for the minorities in America in general (black and Hispanics) but so what. This is the land of opportunity. Get your ass off your grand mother’s coach and go to work like a man instead feeling your ceeb every second and making babies like wild dogs. I feel sorry for their women and the hardship they face but the men need to be in concentration camps. Majority of them are nothing but sperm donors. However, there’re some well educated, hard working black men out there who willing make the ultimate sacrifice for their family and love ones like a real man would.

I have one question for Error? Do Somalis included in those STRIVING immigrants in america?

You don't have to be an African American. I live in North America(And have sharci) And I am considered as "Black/African"...In my sharci, it doesn't say that I'm Afro-American...Do you WANT to be an African-American? Trust me, it's not that flattering sweety..It's a DISS.

First off, you are IGNORANT! I've heard one of these "wild dogs" explain themselves much more profoundly in one sentence than your whole rediculous post. People having babies like "wild dogs" is an outcome of poverty. Poverty for most black people, is rooted in a problem that has not been fixed since being implemented in slavery times--poor, dilapidated, under-funded, low-standard, poorly taught, inner-city public schools. Read a sociology book so that you don't say shallow, stupid things!




Second, If you REALLY think america is a pure capitalistic country, then that just shows your ignorance even more. Anyone who studies economics will tell you that this doesn't exist anywhere on the planet!

Third, in my city alone, they are trying to fix the problem of white companies getting preferred treatment when it comes to getting both private and government contracts. They are trying to enact an "affirmative action" plan to ensure black businesses have a fighting chance...and its 2005 I remind you!

There is MUCH that goes on behind the scenes these days that would elicit ignorant statements such as the one above. I'll repeat it again..america is a WHITE COUNTRY when the true chips fall. Black people's ONLY salvation is to build up BLACK countries and become self-sufficient that way. Stop looking to europe, america, and india. Co-ordinate amongst themselves and stop paying ludicrous foreign debt. PATRICE LUMUMBA knew this well, which is why he was cut down early!!

I suggest you read ANY Marcus Garvey book. The "Black Star Line" is the next step to ANY progress. Otherwise, things will remain stagnant and places like Somalia will remain as it is today!

Dont speak to me like that young woman, I am not your mother What part of what I said is untrue? Take Minnesota for example: fewer somalis enroll to school (striking 5%!), somali women are about to hit a record when it comes to childbirth (the number rises every year) and according to statistics from the american goverment over 30 % of all somalis are still hooked on ceer even though they've been in the states for over 5 years. Yeah, that's over achieving allright.

What part would be a diss?

-The "african" part (which you are, because the last time I checked, Somalia was in Africa).

-Or the "american" part (which can be understood, I've met americans who claim that they are ashamed of their country.)

I can't call myself "african american" of the simple reason that I dont live there. Had I lived there, I would have. It would have made me proud. I'm proud of men like Malcolm X. In a speech (which I dont remember the name of) he said that blacks are africans in america.
