Three young Toronto men armed with handguns were arrested as they disembarked a Via train at Union Station after a cross-country trip.
When the men arrived at the Front St. station, between Bay and York Sts. around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, they were met by a contingent of officers from Toronto's gun and gang task force, investigators from 52 Division and the OPP.
Police alleged the men boarded the train in Edmonton for a return trip to Toronto.
Each was allegedly armed with a loaded handgun. Investigators also accused two of the men of carrying unspecified amounts of marijuana and cocaine. One man allegedly assaulted an officer during the arrest.
Mohamed Hersi, 20,a.k.a 1negaymansquad: Mohammed Aden, 22, a.k.a Screwed: and Guled Mahadale, 19, a.k.a COSTER, all face numerous firearms offences.
Hersi is also charged with assault resisting arrest and possessing a firearm contrary to a court order. Aden is also charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and Mahadale is charged with possessing marijuana.
