Issit me or are people trigger happy now days?

I noticed a disturbing trend recently, I hear shooting on nightly basis and even see them and I dont even live in a dangerous area, for example, I went to the lake few hours ago with the hommies and there was someone shooting what sounded like a machine gun from across the lake, we could even see the bullets hailing down the lake since it was dark, could it be due to the economy? any who we ran out of their so fast walle it was amazing 
, but I advise people to be really cautious since July 4th is several days away, there might be more gun shots than firecrackers.
