Why was everything destroyed in Somalia? Today not even 1 brick of the old parliament is left, It was leveled to the ground just like a lot of other government buildings.

Why did this happen?

One theing I never understood, is the somali fetish for fighting in cities, streets and market places. I mean, 90% of the cuontry is desert and mountains, cant they fight there, instead of destroying beautiful buildings, and displacing & killing innocent people?

NOOO, that means their likely hood of dying is more. They want all the cool buildings, cars, old ladies, and kids to hide behind, so the bullets hit those first
