Why was everything destroyed in Somalia? Today not even 1 brick of the old parliament is left, It was leveled to the ground just like a lot of other government buildings.

Why did this happen?

The simple answer is cus of War... when war breaks out nothing is left to stand, there are People who dont want anything to remind them of the Past..

One theing I never understood, is the somali fetish for fighting in cities, streets and market places. I mean, 90% of the cuontry is desert and mountains, cant they fight there, instead of destroying beautiful buildings, and displacing & killing innocent people?

Because we are Muslim people who have gone against everything Allah commanded them to do, we are paying the ultimate price for our disobedience to him. It's in the Qur'an too. How many nations or poeple have been destroyed before us. Many I tell you.
