I've finally figured out the mujahideen of Dugsiga Farooq Caanoole brigade!

The town of Caanoole is Ciise Maxamud.

The leader is Maxamed Mire, an Idigfacle - my Reer Ayeeyo (dad's mom, probably her hometown)

The militia leader is Ciise Maxamud, Mukhtar Cali Cumar (AKA Abu-Cayisha)

Sorry to address this late bro.

My mom's family is Cumar Maxamud - Reer Mahad and they came directly from Nugaal (Burtinle, Eyl, Garowe). They came in the 1860s.

My dad's family is Ciise Riyoole, the came directly from Dan Gorayo (Qardho metro area). My dad's fam came in 1887...my dad knows his history more directly than my mom.

How they came though you ask?

My mom never told me much about how Reer Mahads came through, but my dad has a more clear record and he told me that his folks came by simple nomadism. We simply wanted more fruits.

paid-monk burtinle is the only place omar mahmud reside...as far as nugal its cise maxamud territory with cisman maxamud in garowe especially bah dubeys sub-clan of cisman maxamud.

My father never told me of any omar maxamuds when he was growing up in the 60S in garowe. It was riyole and cisman maxamud. omar mahmud came after puntland was formed is my bet.
