Post by Homer Simpso »

you wont believe it but I got a phone call from a friend of mine today asking me whether I know an artist called K-naan!!.. I said I've heard about the guy but havent listened to his music. My friends is a redneck by the way!!.. she kindda invited me to her crib and played a K-naan DVD, awesome music- the guy was singing some funny Somali songs translated in English.. but it was actually good!!..

I aint still fan but the guy's got some talent and he gets my support

Which persuaded you, the white chic or his music? Where you biased in the first place because he was Somali? Did the fact that a ‘redneck’ knew and liked his music elevate him to a certain stage to be acknowledged by you? Is everything you do and like first recognized by your ‘white’ friends? ...

thats foking sad walahi, how a white chick made u support a somali artist u didnt like before...
but it in a way it tells a Deeper message.. a message that shows the mentality of a lot of somalis out there, who under-estimate their people due to jelousy and envy, it also shows how you're looking for acceptance from other people, basically ur begging..
i bet when the white chick played the dvd, u was all smiling and shaking ur head to the beat and shyt  ...disgusting baan ku idhi .....Fake

Wtf are u, maxaad tahay, Niyow...?? i know ur kind, the type of fools who kiss white their managers ass and report people when they're late for work or take a day off sick..... Snitches & b'itches make me sick....

Ur fake

Funny u say that, when I was promoting his music in various sites back in the days, majority of somalis were dissing him.

-his voice is annoying
-he sounds feminine
-his just wasting his time
-his too skinny
-his too something etc....

You wont believe how that attitude quickly changed once they saw him on TV or once non-Somalis started accepting him, than it became, ohh his sick, his the shid, his the same qabiil as me, his uncle's distant cousin once gave him a ride looool.

It's sad, they have to approve of him waay after ajnabis.

With that said, The second album was ok but I want him to focus on something different, other than Somalia, really it's getting redundant, each and every one of his songs, freestyle etc being about the same thing is getting annoying, I would advise him to expand his contents to something that everyone can relate to.

I actually heard him the other night on radio singing one of Maandeeq's songs:

Ahaaa haa haa sidii hogasha roobka
aduunbay hilaacay.

It sounded good.

I wonder of he gives any royalties to any of those Somali singers like Maandeeq, Magool, Cadhays Ciise and others.
