Going to the Clan Section
Makes it obvious that some people's mentality today is no different from that of camel herders' centuries ago. This - them against us - stance is very pointless but some people stick to it like the Gospel. You would have thought that years of getting slaughtered in turn would have taught us to sympathise with one another but I guess empathy and brotherhood beyond clan lines is not necessarily something that appeals to everyone.

Re: Going to the Clan Section
For someone that dislikes clan talk, you have been talking about it nonstop for the past few days! You even read a book, woman.
What’s the matter? Family refusing to let you marry your sweetheart because he’s from another clan? [THIS IS A JOKE] (I know what you're like).

Re: Going to the Clan Section
BV,
I have had a very very heated discussion about the relevance of clanism with a former forumer who was a staunch supporter of clan superiority, but finally, I put him in his rightful place.
Ppl who are clan loyal are mostly the underprivileged, the undereducated and those lacking self esteem, hence the support of the clan. because they do not have what it takes to stand individually, they always have to lean on someone for support, be it financially or morally.
Having said that, I always wonder: How did the reer Baadiye managed to convince the reer magaal who had no use for qabiil b4, to be a front runner in qabiil affairs?

Re: Going to the Clan Section
lol PB no my family is not like that, I would be more concerned with marrying a man who has the mentality that some of the guys on here display. Imagine getting hitched to someone who secretly hates your qabiil
ps I like to understand qabiil and it's place in out culture from an intellectual view point, pointless bickering and grown men insulting each other does not amuse me
sheekh-Farax-zero true say, it seems like it's ok to be as insulting/backward as you want on that section

It revolves always. Likewise, It is same as when you like something others hate and when you abhore others will like and adore. Just see how people interact, instead I personally find abuse restrictions than all removal.black velvet wrote:lol PB no my family is not like that, I would be more concerned with marrying a man who has the mentality that some of the guys on here display. Good that you put them in their place. Sometimes it feels like not saying anything makes the insults ok.Sir-Luggoyo wrote:BV,

As for your last point - I think it was the reer magal with the sinister agenda who convinced the reer baadiye to fight. True reer magal still have no use for qabyalo

Ever heard of HUMAN SHIELDS? It is as exactly as what we are supposed to say. Clan exists but we lost its proper use.black velvet wrote:Good that you put them in their place. Sometimes it feels like not saying anything makes the insults ok.Sir-Luggoyo wrote:BV,

BV your qabil sucks and my qabil kick your qabil's azz

Re: Going to the Clan Section
depending on how they were bunged I think they need more parental attention. Kids can adopt bad habits eventhough they have not seen Somalia they can adopt bad habits from men in coffeshops. It is exactly playing like an adult.black velvet wrote:So why are kids who live in American/Europe and are no where near Somalia still banging on about qabiil?abdi342 wrote: Ever heard of HUMAN SHIELDS?
