strongmen in terms of will and political conviction to bring out the institutions is what africa needs :up:

BTW, in 1960 the then World Bank President famously remarked "when will S. Korea be like Ghana." Today S. Korea has transformed itself into first world nation while Ghana has regressed. Ghana is at the moment making up for what it lost in 1970s and 1980s.

The fact that this country is seen as "bright light" in Africa speaks volumes about the sad state of the continent.

But thumbs up to Botswana, S. Africa and Mauritius. Zimbabwe was a success story until 1999 when Mugabe became just another Africa dictator.
