old pictures of Badhan, the town is booming. I still dont understand why Maakhiris prefer lowlands when the calmadow would be the best location for any humans especially in this region of the Horn. Perfect climate, agriculture, plentiful fresh water and beautiful landscape.

They are all personal pictures, some will hit the internet but many will be kept away including video footage. Maakhir is sacred land.

Oldenglish, share with us some pics.

Deforestation was limited to the Sool Plateau. (The real Sool). Hasn't Ilka-jiir done anything to combat them. What about the troops formed for the protection of Sool?

Olden, there are many villages in Calmadow but the main reason Maakhiris don't want to settle Calmadow is the absense of roads. This place is hard to penetrate as it's thick forest. If the Geeldoora Project gets completed, population will shift from Bosaaso and Badhan into Calmadow greeneries.

I'm puting something together for the Warsangeli community in the west. Our region and community faces massive issues of course the Somalians face similar and even worse but for the progressive development and future its necessary that all new generation Warsangelis whether attached or not to Maakhir must do something for the community there. Inshallah I will be organizing a few meetings not only with other Warsangelis who want to take part but ajanabi/gaals that want to help the region develop politically, economically and its infrastructure. On my trip to Laas Qoray, it was rocky but I did see the work the locals and HR was doing in the region, roads are not paved with asphalt/concrete/cement but existing stone blocks. It is a task that can only be taken by a government which we completely lack and have not established, the Calmadow is a region where the miya people take there herds to eat since its forest but I hope the people do not relocate since the already chop trees for charcol there and it would only affect and wipe out the ecosystem there. But tourism is a huge opportunity for Maakhir to progress and develop right now Im working with a few people to make this happen and see where it goes, Hadaaftimo, Calmadow, Laas Qoray maybe Badhan and Dhahar are all perfect tourist destination for Westerners. And it will fuel the local economies there and provide employment opportunities.

Do you have a blog? All of your journal entries, commentaries, suggestions, videos, pics and events you were involved need to be collected for one a blog or your own site. Let people see your work and I am positive they will be involved a lot.

My path isnt appealing to the Warsangeli masses just yet but rather do the necessary that I can do with the support I will gain from non-Maakhiris in the west. Our projects will surface and when time comes Maakhiris can get involved right now organization is key and Maakhir is a jewel in the Horn that needs direction followed by action.

Xamari what made sanaag somaliland? 85% of the ppl in sanaag are warsangeli, the rest is isaaq and dhulbahante...verify below unicef international agency.
http://www.odi.org.uk/HPG/.../Emergency ... m_ECRP.pdf

What u mean to call it somaliland..only erigavo, maydh, an el-afweyn and other 500 ppl villages occupied by isaaq is under somaliland. The rest is under puntland rule. U really are brainwashed by snm media, go read the international agencies and see how focked up ur ppl have made u, unicef and united nations will tell u that ur ppl lied to u for to long and u shouldnt trust them...sad

Puntland administration is badhan, las qoray, dhahar, and all those surrounding towns. only east-erigavo which is missing from our administration. The rest is solidly under puntland rule.
