The only reason mudug is the standard language for somalia is the major differences between north and south, if it was given to the north then all the reer koonfur would be confused as hell and vice versa so mudug is directly in the middle and both north and south can understand them.

This is what the united nation says...Where-as in 2007 dhulbahante beat puntland with the help of isaaq...u needed to do a coalition...and to make matters worse, puntland only fought in 2007 with half its troops, because puntland resources were in the south getting revenge on hawiye.
