There is a famous story in ancient arab where a murderer who killed 99 people and he went to a sheikh to ask if he will be forgiven for killing 99 people in yomul qiyama. The sheikh indignantly said-- Hell no, how can u be forgiven ,u killed 99 naafs. The murderer put a sword in the sheikhs heart. He became his 100th victim. He went to another Sheikh, and asked the same question. The Sheikh adviced him that it was between him and Allaah, but that he should move from this town to a new town for Tooba. The murderer followed this advice, so he travelled but on his way, almost near his journey, he died. The angel of hell and angel of paradise arrived, both claiming a right to his body. Finally, the angel of paradise won. The moral of the story is--if naaxriis should be a priority to representer of Islam. (the sheikhs and those who claim to be sheikhs) and that Allaah swt is the only one who denies and gives forgiveness.
