yea its stupid
my dad came to Kismaayo in the early sixties and he told me there was many Marexans in the city originally from Mudug, but even more Marexan in the outskirts of the city like Soonfure, Talhe, ina Nuur etc
also Jilib, Jamaame etc where mostly Marexan, Shiekhal and Gaaljecel...

The town always Had a Marexaan segment, and the town Had a lot of diversity clan wise. Infact My Pops neighbors were Issaq. The only people He remembered seeing a lot of was Bajuuns.
As for Reer Gedo, they're Reer Guurayaal, they go wherever they is rain, so many Marexaans settled permenently in L Jubba on the outskirts of Kista, and many that go there often and come back. Its been like that for centuries.

yep my dad mentioned Bajuunis and that they had the only Settlement in Kismaayo at that time-
there was not much diversity in the cities at that time, it was only foriegners and minorities who were present, most ethnic Somalis were not even allowed in the cities
Kismaayo was pretty small that time and i was told that the Marexans were by far the largest Ethnic Somali community in Kista
it was actually similar case in Xamar

Kismayo maybe, but you seem to be bullshitting about other things as its your common hobby on this site, you know nothing about the people in Jilib & Jamaame.
Jilib in the 1960s only had a minority Cumar Maxamud population of all Darood, they lived in Mareereey.
Jamaame, I only know MJ and Ogaden families as far as Darood settlers went. This neighborhood was called Xaafad Kacaanka for that reason, its where my family lived.

wara Xiddig,
I heard all former Reer Luuq in the diaspora were trying to orginize and invest back in it, waxaas war maka maqashay? Most Reer Gedo towns have weak diasporas, but Baardheere, Beled Xaawo and Garbaharey are at least existant. Luuq degenerated badly from Where it once was. It used to be a nice trading town, that was very aggricultural, all the towns leaving Somalia going to Ethiopia would pass through Luuq's bridge. Its also very strategically located too. Btw, what happened to the Carab and Issaq families that used to live there?
