In the beginning there was HillaryCare. Back in 1993, according to an internal White House staff memo, then-First Lady Hillary Clinton’s staff saw federal coverage of children as a forerunner to universal health coverage. Mrs. Clinton’s staff laid out backup plans in that memo titled “Kid’s First” just in case the idea of universal health coverage failed. One of the key options was to create a state-run health plan for uninsured children who didn’t qualify for Medicaid (SCHIP).

In 1997, the Republican Congress eventually created the current State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) but the 1993 memo exposed how Democrats tried to broaden SCHIP far beyond its intended purpose.

Fast forward to ObamaCare. Republican Senator Jim De Mint said, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

The Waterloo allegory symbolizes a turning point in Obama’s struggle to impose government-run health care on Americans. The infamous Battle of Waterloo effectively ended Napoleon Bonaparte’s military career.

Napoleon believed in government "for" the people and rejected the concept of government "by" the people. His France was a police state with a vast network of secret police and spies. The police shut down plays containing any hint of disagreement or criticism of the government. The press was controlled by the state. It was impossible to express an opinion without Napoleon's approval. Sound vaguely familiar?

“We the people” are steadily turning against ObamaCare. Charles Grassley (R-IA) confided that a Democratic Congressman quoted Obama as saying that the Democrat's concerns about ObamaCare were "going to destroy my Presidency."

Like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama is being castigated for his radical bent on a government takeover of the health care industry, only more so.
