I have Ajuraan cousins who lived in Xamar for a long time post civil war. Trying to go to Leego beach You would go through some crazy Abgal gangs, who pretty much on the beach too ready to rob anybody. Unless You were cool with them, which is impossible it wasn't possible to really hit the beach in Xamar except on Fridays.

I haven't been to Somalia since 1991, and it is not because I am from clan X that cannot go to city or region Y, but because of the insecurity and the fact that the place is totally strange to me since I grew up in the West.




These kids have lived in the city and grew up, they could as well be from different clans yet playing together at Ceel Macaan beach in North Mogadishu.


PS: Clans do not own land, they settle in lands. All the lands that Somalis settle in and are within the borders of the republic that was created in 1960 is owned by Somalis, and is called: Somalia.

Dude I didn't say they couldn't go to the beach because of Abgals necessairly. Ofcourse a Lawless place is a lawless place. Case in point from '07 to '08 pretty much every high profile killing in Kismaayo aside from the Aid Worker was Marexaan, even though the people controlling were Marexaan. The South is just a messed up place. Nice land, but the people are just wasting it. I just asked My Uncle Here about Berbera and He told Me "Ah aaaah, meesha waa cadaab, ana mar tegay"

Berbera is tooo hot, I think that goes for most of Northern coast-cities.

The hinter is better: Hargaisa, Ceerigaabo, Sheikh etc.

Those places are more cooler and better to chill at.
